{"id":1785,"date":"2024-02-17T16:55:38","date_gmt":"2024-02-17T15:55:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bart-ros.nl\/?p=1785"},"modified":"2024-02-17T16:55:38","modified_gmt":"2024-02-17T15:55:38","slug":"drupal-joomla-typo3-wordpress-in-open-website-alliance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bart-ros.nl\/en\/drupal-joomla-typo3-wordpress-in-open-website-alliance\/","title":{"rendered":"Drupal, Joomla, TYPO3, WordPress in &#039;Open Website Alliance&#039;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Four of the largest open source CMS creators are forming a group to jointly advance their international views and interests.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The reason for this was the introduction of the Cyber Resilience Act (<a href=\"https:\/\/digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu\/en\/policies\/cyber-resilience-act\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">C.R.A<\/a>) by the European Union. This is a law that determines who is responsible and liable for software and any security holes therein. The EU&#039;s goal is to increase the security of software.<\/p>\n<p>The open source community provided feedback on the initial proposal from Brussels and it became\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.opensource.org\/the-european-regulators-listened-to-the-open-source-communities\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">largely adopted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This exercise gave Drupal, Joomla, TYPO3, WordPress the idea\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.drupal.org\/association\/blog\/drupal-association-co-founds-the-open-website-alliance\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">to organize themselves<\/a>\u00a0for similar issues in the future. This led to the founding of the Open Website Alliance (<em>no website yet<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>The alliance, which accounts for fifty of the world&#039;s websites, wants to collaborate more easily. The mission (<a href=\"https:\/\/typo3.org\/fileadmin\/t3o_common_storage\/documents\/press_releases\/2024-02_Open_Website_Alliance\/Open_Website_Alliance_Charter.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PDF<\/a>) is to keep the internet open, secure and accessible to everyone by encouraging open source and providing a reliable alternative to cloud and big tech.
